Today we did the weekly current events quiz where we do a quiz on things that are currently happening in the world. When we have done the Quiz we then chose a question to research. I chose to do mine on the United Nations. The question in the quiz was "what flag is this" and it showed an image of the united nations flag. 

I enjoyed finding out the information. I enjoyed finding out the information because I learnt a lot about what the united nations do. 

I found it challenging to find an image of the flag to use. I found it challenging to find an image of the flag to use because there were quite a few that Couldn't be used.

Summer Learning Journey

 Today we did one of the activities for the summer learning journey for this year. The activity that we did was where you got to colour an image of a famous artist. We did it on google. There were 16 different colours that we could choose from to use. The first eight colours are colours from the colour palette of the original painting. The other eight were other different colours that were not part of the colour palette of the painting. I decided to only use the colours from the palette of the original painting. I did a picture of the big ben. The original image will be first then the image I coloured will be after that. 

Komodo Dragon

 This week we did the current events quiz and we all had to choose a question to do research on. I chose to do mine on Komodo Dragons. I talked about a couple of different things about Komodo Dragons including if they could kill someone and put what I had found out into different slides. 

I enjoyed doing all of the research. I enjoyed doing all of the research because I found it really interesting to find out about a whole lot of different things about Komodo Dragons. 

I found It challenging to figure out what question to do research on. I found it challenging to figure out what question to do research on because there were a lot of good questions To choose from.

The world's Largest shopping event

Today we did our current events quiz and had to choose a  question to do research on. There were twenty different questions all about different things like a killer whale that was seen in part of New Zealand and what is the mane of the Argentina rugby team that beat the All Blacks. I chose to do mine about Singles day. The question was what it is called. 

I enjoyed doing the research. I enjoyed doing the research because there was a lot of information that I was able to find and I found it really fun finding out about all of the different things about Singles day. 

I found it challenging to chose what question to research. I found it challenging to choose what question to do research on because there were a lot of really good questions to choose from and I wasn't sure which one to do.

HOW TO BE A GRACIOUS WINNER AND LOSER

 This week we are doing our reading on our sportsmanship. For this activity what we had to do is we had to write about how to be a gracious winner and loser. For mine, I made two slides, one about being a gracious winner, the other about being a gracious loser. 

I enjoyed writing about how to be a gracious winner. I enjoyed writing about how to be a gracious winner because there were so many things that I was able to write about. 

I found it challenging to come up with the things that you should do to be a gracious loser. I found it challenging to come up with the ideas of what to do to be a gracious loser because I wasn't sure of how to word some of the things that you should do.

SPORTSMANSHIP

 This week we are doing reading based on sportsmanship. One of the things that we have had to do is say what the 3 Olympic values are. 

I enjoyed writing it. I enjoyed writing it because I was able to give an explanation as to what they are and why they have them. 

I found it challenging to find the three values. I found it challenging to find the three values because there were different sights with different answers.

CURRENT EVENTS QUIZ

 Today we did our weekly current events quiz. Each week my class does a quiz on current events. When we have finished, We then choose a topic to research. This Week I chose the Question about the puppy that was born in Italy that was born green. 

I enjoyed doing the research. I enjoyed doing the research because I found out that puppies can be born green but slowly turn back to their actual fur colour. 

I found it challenging to get information. I found it challenging to get the information because although there are a lot of people talking about the green puppy there are not a lot of people talking about why the puppy is green.

MATHS DLO TIME TABLES

 This week we are doing maths DLOs. Last week we did two diagnostic tests for maths and then we had to look at what areas we need to work on for time. Once we found out what areas we need to work on we then had to make DLOs to show our learning on what we have done. 

I enjoyed filming the video. I enjoyed filming the video because it was nice and quiet where I was filming and I could film in peace. 

I found it challenging to find a quiet place for filming. I found it challenging to find a quiet place for filming because in places where it normally quiet, people were already filming there.

Maths Parts Of A Circle DLO

 This week we are focusing a bit on our maths. We had to do two different diagnostic tests and then we had look at what areas we need to work on. One of the things I need to work on is parts of a circle. Part of what we had to is to make a DLO.

I enjoyed doing the quiz after the diagnostic test for the parts of a circle. I enjoyed this because I found out a couple of different parts to a circle. 

The thing I found the most challenging was looking for the quiz. I found this the most challenging because I was hard to search for it and I didn't know how to do it at first but I figured it out.

Tasmanian Devils

Yesterday we did a quiz on current events and today we had to choose one of the questions to do research on. I chose to do mine on the Tasmanian Devil. 

The thing I enjoyed the most would have been finding out all of the different things about Tasmanian Devils. The most surprising thing I learnt is that it is common for them to have a certain type of cancer called DTFD. 

The thing I found most challenging was having to try and put the writing about DTFD into my own words. This was the most challenging because I found it hard to find different words that I could use.

The 2024 Oscars change

 Today we did a quiz that had a few different questions on it to do with things that are happening in the world. When we had filled out the quiz we then had to look at the questions and choose which one we wanted to research. I chose to do what is going to change in the oscars in 2024. I went onto a few different sites and managed to find find out some stuff about what is happening. 

I enjoyed writing down everything that I had found out. I enjoyed this because it was fun to write down everything that I had found be able to put everything into my own words. 

I found it challenging to find where the information was. I found this challenging because there was a really good site that I found but I had to make an account to be able to read what was in the article.

 This week is Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori which means that it is Maori language week. In my class we have this list that has a whole lot of different activities that we can do for Maori language week. One of the things that I have chosen to do is to mark a couple of important places in New Zealand. Here is what I made today.

 This week it is te wiki o te reo māori week which means that it is Māori language week. We have a few different activities that we can choose to do and I chose to do the making a picture gif of Māui . For mine, I decided to do Māui catching the sun. Here is my gif. 

Speech

This term we are doing our speeches. We can do them on any topic we would like. I chose to do Mine on Ballet. 

I am writing about what pointe shoes are, why male ballet dancers are less common than female ballet dancers, what is it like to be on pointe and what is ballet. If you hadn't guessed it I am a ballet dancer. I also do Lyrical. 

Reading

This week and last week we have been doing a bit of reading for our groups with different activities we have to complete.  The article in the journal we read last week is all about global warming. One of them for these 2 weeks are a cause and effect sheet. we had to write what te cause is what effect it has.

Hello Goodbye

Today we had to make a hello goodbye poem.
I found it challenging to find photos that could match my poems. I found this challenging because I couldn't find a New world supermarket logo and trying to find a picture of ballet slippers was hard.
I enjoyed coming up with different things to write about. I enjoyed this because you had to find two opposites and put them together.
When doing this we had to think about things that were different about life before lockdown and life during lockdown.

Today's daily connection is "if you could invite any 3 people to a dinner party, dead or alive, who would they be and why?".
The first person I would invite would be Nan. She would be the first person I would invite because I was so close to her, and she was the only great grandparent I was able to meet.
The second person I would invite would be Pop. He would be the second person I would invite because, I never got to meet him. From what my parents have said about him we have a lot in common. He is also one of my Great grandparents.
The third person I would invite would be Nana Kea (pronounced k). She would be the third person I would invite because I haven't been able to talk to her or see her since I was 3 years old. My family and I would go to the hospital all the time, to go and see her and we were very close.

Daily Puzzle

For today's daily puzzle what we had to do was name the book character. The office lady at our school made a quiz. She got the pictures of a character from a couple of different books, and we had to say what their names are.
