Term 3 Reflections

Today we made a slide that is our term 3 reflections.
WALT: To reflect on what has happened in term 3.
I enjoyed making this because it was fun finding different things that we have done this term and remembering lots of different memories from this term.
I found it challenging to find what we had done this term and trying to find different images for my slide of how I was feeling and choosing my favourite things for this term.

All about Noah Barleywater runs away

Noah Barleywater runs away is a book that my reading group is reading, it is also a fantasy. This book is all about how Noah runs away from home and he goes through three different villages. In the first village he is very hungry and as he is walking he finds an apple tree with lots of apples on it, he walks towards it but it moves away and it keeps moving away until he runs to the tree and jumps on it before it moves again. then the tree begins talking to him saying please don't eat me please don't take my apples. He gets caught taking three apples and gets yelled at and then he runs till he gets to the next village. In the next village he meets a man who is taking his dieing cat to the vets in a wheelbarrow. he then meets another man who is reading the paper and sees an article about Noah taking the apples and how the owner took the treen to the hospital. He then looks at the picture and saw Noah and got angry. Noah then walked to the next village and he meets a talking dog and a very hungry talking donkey. in the village there is a strange house and a strange tree outside the house. He goes inside the house and is surprised to find that it is a toy shop, he finds the owner of the toy shop and finds out about how weird and strange the man and the shop is and all about the man's crazy history.

Maori colours

For the past few weeks we have been focusing on learning Te Reo Maori. Yesterday we had a google drawing that had a lot of the colours in Maori and we had to colour the boxes of the other side of the google drawing the colour that was said in Maori. For example, kakariki is green so you would colour the box green. Here is a photo of the google drawing.

Making tracks for robots to go around

At Paroa school the year 7's go to Greymouth high school and do tech. We have 3 classes, technology/computers, cooking and woodwork. I am in technology. This term we are making tracks that these robots called spheros can go around. We made them out of wood, cardboard and/or thin plastic. For mine I spraypainted the track silver and the base gold. To make the track softer I am also adding some felt fabric. I am sticking it to the track by using a hot glue gun. when I have stuck all of the felt to the track I will spraypaint it silver to match the colour of the track.
Here is a photo of my track.
